Why, how, and wherefore — or, why Kefka?!

Kefka doesn't really get a whole lot of love. Sure, we have some fans here, but he's nowhere near as popular as some other Final Fantasy villains (like, oh, Sephiroth). But Kefka was always the villain that stood out to me. The one thing that cemented him as my favorite was simple: the fact that he was a villain who actually took over the world. Every other villain I'd ever seen had either been stopped by the heroes at just the right moment or got overthrown five minutes later. Kefka completely eschewed the stereotypes and took over halfway through the game. Put simply, I was impressed and fascinated.

And so I decided I was going to make a Kefka shrine, and started working on it in the spring of 2007. Shortly after I started working on it, Kefka's listing at The Fanlistings Network got removed, and I naturally had to apply. I got approved for the fanlisting, but it proceeded to kill any progress whatsoever I was making on the shrine portion, and it remained in this state for about two years. Sad, but true. When the Shrine Swap Layout Marathon at Amassment was announced, I decided I was going to bite the bullet and finish the shrine I'd started so long ago. And here we are!

If you were expecting some detailed, thought-out reasoning for the site title, I'm afraid I don't have any for you. I took the easy route when I started working on it and named it after his earth-rending attack. You're welcome to look deeper into it if you want to, though ;D
